Thank you for your interest in attending the Michigan Technology Conference 2026 (“MITechCon 2026”). MITechCon 2026 is organized and hosted by The Michigan Technology Conference Association, Inc., a Michigan nonprofit corporation (“Organizer”). By registering for or attending our conference, you agree to the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully.
1. Registration & Admission:
- Admission to the conference is only for registered attendees.
- Organizer reserves the right to deny registration or admission to any individual without explanation.
- The ticket you purchase represents a revocable license for you to access MITechCon 2026 on the dates and times as indicated on your ticket. The license includes the revocable right to attend MITechCon 2026. This license can be revoked at any time by the issuer at its sole discretion, without any prior notifications or compensation options. If the license is revoked, you will not be granted entry into the venue.
2. Payment:
- Payment in full must be received to confirm your registration.
- All prices are exclusive of taxes unless otherwise stated.
3. Cancellation & Refund:
- Please refer to our Refund Policy for details on cancellations and refunds.
4. Conduct:
- All attendees, speakers, sponsors, and volunteers at our conference are required to agree with and adhere to the MITechCon Code of Conduct. This code is in place to ensure a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of gender, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, race, or religion.
- Violations of the Code of Conduct may result in ejection from the conference without refund. To view the complete Code of Conduct, please visit the dedicated section on our website or refer to the conference materials provided upon registration.
5. Intellectual Property:
- The content presented at MITechCon 2026 is copyrighted by the respective presenters and Organizer. Unauthorized recording, copying, or transmission of any conference material is strictly prohibited.
- Attendees may use knowledge gained for personal and professional growth but may not reproduce or distribute material without explicit permission.
6. Data Protection:
- By registering, attendees consent to Organizer collecting and storing information for purposes related to the conference.
- Organizer respects privacy and will not share personal data with third parties without consent unless legally required.
7. Liability & Insurance:
- Attendees voluntarily assume all risks and dangers incidental to the event for which this ticket is issued and waive all claims against ticket issuer, Organizer, sponsors of the event, and venue owner. Organizer will not be liable for any injuries or losses suffered by attendees.
- The Organizer takes no responsibility to personal/financial damages caused to you at the venue, or for any items lost, stolen, or misplaced while attending MITechCon 2026.
8. Program Changes:
- Organizer reserves the right to make changes to the conference program, date, venue, or cancel the event if necessary. Attendees will be informed of major changes.
9. Refund Policy:
- The Organizer understands that certain unforeseen and unexpected circumstances may arise that may impact an Attendees ability to attend MITechCon 2026, as such, Organizer’s refund policy is as follows:
A. Notification Timeframe:
- Full Refund: Attendees can request a full refund up to 30 days before the MITechCon 2026 start date. A full refund will be granted less any processing fees (if applicable).
- Partial Refund (50%): Attendees can request a partial refund between 29 to 15 days before the MITechCon 2026 start date.
- No Refund: No refunds will be issued for cancellations made less than 15 days before the MITechCon 2026 or in the event of no-shows.
B. Transfer Option:
- Instead of a refund, Attendees have the option to transfer their ticket to another person. Transfer requests can be made up to 10 days before the start of MITechCon 2026. Transfers are not permissible within 10 days of the MITechCon 2026 start date.
C. Event Cancellation:
- In the unlikely event that MITechCon 2026 is canceled due to unforeseen circumstances (natural disasters, health pandemics, etc.), your ticket will be transferred to next year’s event unless you apply for a refund within three (3) months of the cancellation. However, Organizer will not be responsible for any incidental expenses such as transportation, hotel accommodations, or any other related costs.
D. Mode of Refund:
- Refunds will be processed using the same payment method used during registration. Please allow up to 15 business days for the refund process to be completed.
E. Processing Fee:
- All refunds are subject to a 5% processing fee. This is deducted from the refundable amount.
F. Special Considerations:
- If an Attendee is unable to attend the MITechCon 2026 due to extenuating circumstances (medical emergency, death in the family, etc.), they should contact the MITechCon event organizers directly. Decisions will be made on a case-by-case basis.
G. Changes to the Refund Policy:
- Organizer reserves the right to modify this refund policy at any time without prior notice. Any changes will be communicated to registered attendees.
H. How to Request a Refund:
- Attendees wishing to request a refund or transfer their ticket should contact the MITechCon registration team via email at info@mitechcon.org. Ensure that you include your full name, registration details, and the reason for the request.
10. Media & Photography:
- Photographs and videos may be taken during the conference for promotional purposes. By attending, you grant Organizer, the right to use your likeness in promotional materials without compensation.
11. External Links:
- The conference materials may contain links to external sites. Organizer is not responsible for the content or privacy practices of these sites.
12. Governing Law:
- These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, and any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of its courts.
13. Amendments:
- Organizer reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time without prior notice. Updated terms will be posted on the conference website.
14. Affiliate Membership:
- The purchase of your ticket to MITechCon 2026 also grants you a 1 year membership as an Affiliate Member of The Michigan Technology Conference Association, Inc.
- As non-voting Affiliate Member, you will have the ability to participate in the annual meeting of the Organizer, serve on committees, and otherwise be involved with the Organization pursuant to its Bylaws.
- Your membership does not auto-renew and your membership dues are included as a portion of ticket purchase.
- Should you desire to opt out of your Affiliate Membership, please email info@mitechcon.org.
15. Age and Admission Policy:
- Due to the professional nature of MITechCon 2026, children under 18 years of age may only attend with the purchase of a separate ticket and under the supervision of a ticketed Attendee over the age of 18.
- Minors must be supervised at all times by the Attendee they attend MITechCon 2026 with.
- Failure to comply with this provision, or any of these Terms & Conditions, Code of Conduct, or Anti-Discrimination policies will result in the immediate removal of the minor and his/her supervising Attendee from MITechCon 2026.
- The Organizer takes no responsibility to personal/financial damages caused to any minor at the venue, or for any items lost, stolen, or misplaced while attending MITechCon 2026.
16. Severability:
- The provisions of these Terms & Conditions are independent and separable from each other. In the event that these Terms & Conditions, or any portion hereof is deemed unenforceable, all other provisions of these Terms & Conditions will remain valid and in full force and effect.
By completing the registration process, you acknowledge and agree to these terms and conditions. If you do not agree, please do not proceed with registration or attendance.
